The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and speed. Within minutes I had a batch of warm, golden-brown bites that were as deligtful to eat as they were to make. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these donut holes had a flavor so rich and satisfying it was hard to believe they were a healthier alternative to a traditional fried donut.
Perfect for an outdoor treat or a quick treat.
Recipe
For the Dough:
1/2 cup mashed banana
3/4 cup plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp honey
For the Topping:
coconut oil or butter melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
Mix all ingredients until a dough forms. Oil your fingers with your choice of oil. I used coconut oil. Then knead the dough until a ball forms. Use a tablespoon to separate the dough into balls. Roll the dough into round balls. Place the dough balls onto baking paper and place in the air fryer for 6-7 minutes on 180 degrees celsius. Once cooked, brush the donut holes with melted butter or coconut oil. Then roll the hot donut holes into the cinnamon sugar.
Recipe makes around 6-8 donut holes.
