See Inside the Home of Designer Sylvia Tribel
We're forever inspired by Sylvia Tribel’s beautiful Instagram feed, filled with snaps of her picturesque little home by the sea and all her dreamy seaside adventures with her family. We spoke with Sylvia about the process of creating her coastal home, from styling, to renovating, to what’s next…
Hey Sylvia, thanks so much for taking the time to chat with us! We’re forever inspired by your beautiful Instagram feed. Can you tell us about you and where you live?
Thank you so much for having me! I’m a Fashion Designer & Merchandiser for a denim firm based in New York City. I’ve also taken up ceramics recently and run a tiny business selling my art part-time. I live in a coastal town in New Jersey with my husband, daughter and furry goldendoodle.
We’re in love with your stunning home by the sea. Was it a renovation or a new build?
It’s an old home built in 1907 with most of the original details and charm. We actually haven’t done much to the bones of the home since we moved in besides renovating our kitchen. It was in great move-in condition when we purchased it, but we do have a list of small projects we’d love to chip away at!
Can you describe the overall style of your home?
I'd say its very natural and minimal. I love pulling inspiration from the beach to achieve a clean and calming space. Coastal colors are my favorite palette.
What’s your favourite thing about where you live?
Location! I’ve always dreamed of living in a coastal town and some days I can’t believe it’s become a reality.
What’s your next purchase or project for your home?
Our next project is making the room off of our bedroom more useful. We plan on lime washing the walls and adding a small daybed for lounging and post beach naps. I can’t wait to see the transformation.
