8 Reasons to visit Habitat in Byron Bay this Summer

We recently opened the doors of our new Flagship Store in the beautiful Habitat, the newest shopping precinct in the heart of Byron Bay. We may be biased, but we think it’s one of the best spots to be in Byron, so much so, that we end up spending our weekends here even when we aren’t working! Surrounded by some of the best local businesses, it was easy for us to come up with 8 good reasons why you should come out and visit!

1.we are here! (obvs)

We have opened our first flagship store and we would love to meet you! Come touch and feel the textiles in person and enjoy some good old fashioned customer service. See the space, snap a selfie (we won’t judge) and pick up a gift for yourself or someone you love this holiday season. Over the season ahead we will have some wonderful installations in store and are offering complimentary gift wrapping by upcycling some of our linen cut offs. Let the Summer good times roll…

2. take a class at bende pilates

Whether you are in town for a holiday or a local resident, Bende’s mindful movement studio is just upstairs… there is no excuse to not feel fantastic! If you are just visiting, a week pass is the bomb to not lose your flow while you are in town.

3. The landscaping

Hear me out. It’s incredible. You will be inspired by the tropical native garden vibes. Just trust us. If you appreciate foliage as much as we do… just have a look around. There is our favourite spear grass, kangaroo paw combo just outside our window.

4. Barrio

Our neighbourhood bar and eatery. The staff are warm and the beer is cold. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner we have personally eaten our way through the menu and we are going to do it again and again you hear! There’s no stopping us… we won’t stop you… in fact join in. Head Chef, Francisco Smoje, has a touch for perfecting beef empanadas and the menu is one of the best we’ve tasted in the Byron region.

5. Something for the boys!

We shop a lot and never in our travels have we seen such a well curated mens space. The crew at Department of Simple Things have joined forces with a bevy of other gentlemen’s brands and the results… well it’s like they have gotten into our husbands’ heads and made their dreams materialise… plus you can get a beard trim in store… so that’s great.

6. Support local

Know that when you shop at Habitat you are supporting small local businesses and that’s a wonderful thing! Here’s a few of our neighbours…

7. Swim at Belongil

It’s just down the road past Elements and your dogs can run free… Beware (or join in) it’s clothing optional at the northern end.

8. Catch the solar train

That’s right folks, just when you think Byron couldn’t get any more Byron, it stays true to its roots at the deepest level. We love it for that. You can catch the solar train from town to our door. If you do drive, you can plug in your electric car outside too.
Ride your bike… walk along the sand… just come! See you soon.
