When it comes to collaborations Net-A-Porter is a dream come true. To be one of only a few Australian brands stocked on their store was a career highlight for our humble team here in the sleepy seaside town of Kingscliff. To get a knock on the door (ok a bing in the inbox) from their design team requesting a print, well that was just a great thing to spark our Tuesday morning a few months back. Here we ask founders and creative directors Emma and Victoria about how this towel came to be…

Can you tell us about the collaboration?

Victoria: While some of our gals were in London presenting the brand to NAP, they just fell in love with the team and came home saying “we should totally design something for them”, no lie the next day their buyer emailed us asking for an exclusive. It was meant to be…

What was the inspiration behind the theme?

Emma: Net-A-Porter sent us an initial mood board of images and ideas. Then they said “be free, go for it and we can’t wait to see what you come up with”. The design team and I were like kids in a candy store. Creative freedom is the best kind of freedom. The inspiration really draws from the Caribbean coast.

Can you talk us through the design process?

Emma: From there we added to our mood board and our in house illustrator Aidan sketched and painted our ideas onto paper.

Victoria: It was a group effort, we had so much fun, a few samples later we were able to present the towel to NAP and they gave it the tick straight away and here it is… ready for adventures.
