International Women's Day Event Recap
Emma and I are still floating on a cloud after our event on Friday for International Womens Day. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Beach People, we talked about our journey and how we've grown as female business owners. I remember back when we sold our first towel, and we went out for a celebratory coffee! To celebrate in this way felt so special. I think we should celebrate this way every year from here on out!
We started the day with Champagne at the most beautiful location, Tweed River House. The decor and furnishings are so stunning, and the house is breathtaking. It reminded me of the Queenslander home I grew up in, Brisbane. As our friends, family, and community arrived, we embraced and shared stories of The Beach People from years gone by and what it means to be women in 2023.
Over the three courses featuring delicious meals like Confit Tuna, Mcauley's Farm Beef, Beetroot Textures and Creme Brulee, just to name a few, we laughed and cried as Em and I shared the highs and the lows of the last ten years. It really was one for the history books.
As always, I want to thank and honour YOU, our community, for following, supporting and being here to Ride The Waves with us. We appreciate you. Throughout this event and with the help of everyone in attendance, we raised $750 for Sparrow International. We would also like to thank the generous businesses that donated to our goody bags - Vegetalement, Purely Byron, Byron Bay Crackers, Francesca, Husk Distillery, Bluebird Jewellery, Brookfam and Eye of Horus. Thank you.
