DIY Holiday Ornaments

My four daughters are craft crazy, especially when it comes to Christmas craft. This one is so simple, effective and fun. The white clay is really beautiful on a fresh green pine tree or on a rustic stick style Christmas tree. You could add handwritten festive words or do the kids’ finger prints for a soulful touch. FYI - this craft is best enjoyed with a sweet festive treat, a Christmas rom com in the background or Michael Bublé playing softly.

DIY Air Dried Clay Ornaments

You will need:

White air drying clay (available from craft stores)

Cookie shapes (I used stars, hearts and gingerbread men)

Jute twine

Scissors

Skewers

Rolling pin

How to make them:

  1. Roll out your clay until clay is around 5mm thick (the thicker you go the longer it will take to dry).

  2. Cut shapes into the clay using your cookie cutters.

  3. Pierce a hole in the desired spot for the jute sting to thread through.

  4. Write a message or press a finger print into the ornaments (optional).

  5. Dry on a rack for 24 hours or as per clay instructions.

  6. Thread jute string through your ornaments and hang on your tree.
